Modular containerized industrial-sized electrolysers for high efficiency generation of Green Hydrogen integrating cells and stacks with innovative proprietary electronics and management systems

HYTHESIS is a series of Industrial Electrolysers for Renewable and Green Hydrogen that use PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) technology to convert water and electricity into hydrogen and oxygen and which integrate the following parts. The HYTHESIS project include the following engineering and design:

- Cells and Stacks: cells of various sizes and stacks with variable number of cells (PEM technology) designed and produced according to the most recent updates from the world of the chemical and materials industry;

- PCS (Power Conversion Systems - Power Converters): high efficiency power electronics systems (IGBT and/or SiC) designed to interface with applications related to the world of hydrogen and renewables;

- GEMS (Gas & Energy Management System – Gas and Energy Management System): proprietary software for dynamic intelligent management of the complete system;

- Water purification system: system that purifies mains water (or rainwater) to obtain demi water and ultra pure water to ensure the quality of the final hydrogen;

- Hydrogen purification system: system that purifies the hydrogen produced to a desired degree of purity for each type of application.

An electrolyser is a very complex system...

The Enphos Hythesis electrolyser (1 MW) model, through correct management of the operation of the integrated parts (i.e. stack, power converters, water purification and hydrogen purification) guarantees the production of hydrogen at the start of life and in normal conditions using less than 58 kWh per kg of hydrogen and therefore consumes less than 58 MWh of electricity for each ton of hydrogen produced.
